Managing Quantity Surveyor - Southern Water Team
Location: Southern Water Offices, Falmer/Chatham - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

About the Role
Join our team at the heart of an exciting strategic partnership between Kier and Southern Water to deliver their ambitions for AMP 8 Water cycle. This is a rare opportunity to take on a key commercial leadership role in a collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued and your career growth supported.
Responsibilities
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in ensuring the commercial performance of contracts through effective management of resources and risk strategies. Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading and developing the commercial team, nurturing talent and ensuring high performance
- Providing robust commercial reporting, maintaining accurate cost and value management
- Building positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
- Managing subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting processes
- Implementing effective risk management and mitigation strategies to achieve commercial targets

What We're Looking For
This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification, preferably with RICS membership
- You bring experience in senior commercial roles, ideally within the water sector or regulated utilities
- You have a comprehensive understanding of NEC contracts and current Construction Law
- You excel at building collaborative relationships with clients and supply chain partners
- You're passionate about nurturing talent and creating an inclusive team environment and can demonstrate your approach in achieving this.
