Managing Security Architect
Do you want to help shape the future of our SOC?
This is your chance to take ownership of the end-to-end SOC architecture, guiding how our platforms, detections and controls evolve to meet client, regulatory and business needs. You’ll influence how our services grow, introduce new technologies and strengthen a security-by-design culture.
You’ll join a team operating at the heart of National Security, working in an environment where you’ll be trusted to innovate, contribute ideas and help us stay ahead of emerging threats. We’re a supportive group who share knowledge, mentor colleagues and take pride in delivering high-quality services to our customers.
This is a hybrid role, and you’ll spend two days a week in either Hemel Hempstead or Farnborough – giving you the balance of collaboration time with the team and the flexibility to work from home for the rest of the week.
You do need to be eligible for SC and DV Clearance.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning the SOC architecture to ensure designs, integrations and operating models meet regulatory and assurance requirements.
- Documenting high and low-level security control designs and defining testing needs.
- Setting and governing standards for detection content, including rules, use cases and correlation logic.
- Acting as the technical authority for client security designs and technology roadmaps.
- Leading SOC maturity work to support CREST accreditation.
- Identifying and introducing technologies that enhance analyst effectiveness, including automation and AI.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
