About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer who will design and deliver modern solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. Working within cross-functional teams, you’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle - from concept through to deployment and maintenance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow their technical expertise, have a real impact on projects, and work with cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java applications
- Participate in the full SDLC (design, development, deployment, maintenance)
- Contribute to system architecture and solution design
- Build and secure RESTful APIs
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Share knowledge and mentor junior developers
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements

For the Lead Consultants: additional duties: juniors mentoring, driving digital transformation and building trusted relationships with the clients.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of experience with Java (Kotlin/Scala is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues
- Strong communication skills
- +AngularJS and AWS for the role in Leeds
Nice to Have
- Message queueing systems (Kafka, SQS)
- Serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda)
- Monitoring tools (Dynatrace, ELK, Splunk)
- JPA / Hibernate
- Swagger / OpenAPI
- Testing tools (Selenium, Postman, etc.)
- Experience delivering end-to-end projects

Salary
Depending on your experience and performance during the interview process:
- Manchester/Newcastle: £45,000-£50,000 + £600 in cash benefits
Lead Consultant role in Manchester: £54,000-£64,000 + £5,100 in cash benefits
