Mandarin Speaking Commodity Account Executive – London (Ref: 23389)

Role Overview Your New Job Title: Mandarin Speaking Commodity Account Executive Start: ASAP Location: London Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) – Note: More office days during initial training phase Salary: £30,000+ benefits (Negotiable based on experience) Type: Permanent Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Mon–Fri)


About the Role

Your client is an international trading company seeking a fluent Mandarin and English specialist with experience in financial services to join their commodity derivatives and account management team.

Core Requirements (Essential)

  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English (verbal and written)
  • Experience or internships in:
    • Trading floors
    • Brokerages
    • Financial services environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field

Responsibilities

Daily Account & Trade Execution

Collaborate with sales teams to:

  • Provide real-time price quotes and execute trades via electronic platforms/broking systems.
  • Develop bespoke client solutions.

Client & Institutional Account Management

  • Support Senior Account Executives in day-to-day management of institutional client portfolios.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new counterparties.

Market Analysis & Client Reporting

  • Compile fundamental and technical data into daily market summaries and newsletters.
  • Present insights to engage the client base.

Client Acquisition & Representation

  • Attend industrial conferences/exhibitions to prospect new clients.
  • Act as a resource for the firm’s commodity derivatives portfolio.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Resolve client queries with professionalism and urgency.
  • Maintain detailed records of:
    • Client interactions
    • Coverage targets
    • Marketing materials
  • Work with Middle Office, Compliance, and Risk to ensure regulatory adherence and trade accuracy.

Skills & Attributes

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field) with enthusiasm for global commodity markets.
  • Numerical precision for interpreting market data, especially financial instruments.

Technical competencies

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (critical for documentation).
  • Accuracy under pressure: Ability to perform in a high-stakes, fast-paced trading environment.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication for internal teamwork and client interactions.

Self-Paced Learning & Growth

  • Proactive attitude: A quick learner of commodity derivatives, contract specifications, and risk management.

Preferred

  • Prior experience or internships in trading floors, brokerages, or financial services.
