- Starting Salary: Depending on experience
Location & Working Conditions
- Area: Central London
- Type: Office based (full hybrid or home working not applicable)
- Working Days/Hours: 36 hours per week, including one of the following arrangements (rotating basis):
- 3 night shifts (21:00 – 09:00 in UK time)
- 1 night shift + 2 daytime weekend shifts (09:00 – 21:00)
- Contract: Permanent
- Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
IT Centre (Europe) manages the secure operation of IT applications and front-end systems across our branches and regional offices in Europe and Africa. As IT Support – Mandarin Speaking, your responsibilities include:
Core Duties:
- Assist the Help Desk first-line support in daily IT system operations for the Bank.
- Handle IT-related queries, access requests, and Help Desk cases across branches.
- Perform applications and batch monitoring, as well as data backup and system maintenance.
- Provide second-line operational support, collaborating with technical engineers for system updates and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
First-Line IT Support & Symptoms Handling
- Process Help Desk ticket workflows, ensuring efficient resolution of user account management, access requests, and service requests from London Head Office.
- Manage and streamline the workflow of incoming technical requests.

On-Site & Technical Support
- Carry out maintenance for hardware, machines, and monitoring devices.
- Assist standard users with end-user support (PCs, phones, printers, etc.).
- Maintain software environments, including Windows 10/11 support and troubleshooting.
System & Production Monitoring
- Monitor batch jobs, production systems, and applications using infrastructure tools.
- Follow incident management procedures to respond quickly to critical alerts and escalate as required.
- Conduct first-line response to system/network downtimes or network alerts.
- Generate and analyse daily operational reports for management and branch officers.
Core Requirements
- Fluent orally and in writing in both Mandarin and English for customer interactions, cross-team collaboration, or monitoring logs.
- Qualifications:
- Preferred degree-level education in Information Technology, Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Technical Competencies:
- Proven track record in a similar IT Support/Servicedesk/Level 1 help desk/technician role.
- Technical Experience:
- Practical experience in PC Maintenance (desktop diagnostics, repairs, service/maintenance, driver updates).
- Hands-on experience in OAs system troubleshooting (Windows 10/11, migrations, upgrades & upgrades).
- Administrating /supporting Microsoft Office (version 365) and Outlook, Excel, SharePoint Forms, Lotus Notes, Email Filters, Smart Filtering Rules, extraction/open/import techniques.
- Basic knowledge of Databases (SQL/Knowledge of queries) and afforded a chance to develop.
- Mandatory Knowledge /Experience:
- Cybersecurity, Data Governance (GDPR) compliance awareness (correct fulfilment of privacy obligations).
- Existence of good problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to follow processes meticulously.
