The Company
The company is based in Consett, County Durham and specialises in the reverse engineering of rotating equipment. We service and repair all variety of pumps to blue chip customers in the UK and abroad; from multi-stage, high pressure units to small, over-hung end suction pumps. We are at an exciting point in our development and this is a new position in the machining team which has arisen due to considerable growth.
Job Summary
The Machinist/Horizontal Borer reports directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor, and is responsible for the production of components from drawings, utilising various methods of machining, particularly horizontal boring. CNC machining skills and experience would be an advantage. The suitable applicant must also be fully conversant in both metric and imperial measurements. Parts produced are either built into assemblies in-house or supplied to customers worldwide as spares for rotating pieces of equipment. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team which sees a great variety of components pass through the Machine Shop, so good team work and machining capability is essential to achieve the best results in a growing business. The successful candidate will be a time served Machinist with experience of working with a variety of materials.

Key Skills And Experience
- Experience on horizontal borer with Fagor controls would be an advantage
- Time served machinist
- Timely production of parts to pre-determined deadlines.
- Produce work to the highest quality standard to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Work within British Standards as per company procedures.
- To take part in specialist or multi-disciplinary team activities.
- Honest, reliable and punctual

Package
- Salary: £30,784 (£16 per hour) plus 25% shift premium after successful completion of probationary period.
- 37 Hours per week:
- Day Shift (during probationary period):
- Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:00
- Friday 07:30 – 12:30
- Shift Pattern (after probationary period):
- Day Shift Monday to Thursday 06:00 – 14:00
- Friday 06:00 – 13:30
- Day Shift (during probationary period):
- Back Shift:
- Monday to Wednesday 13:45 – 23:45
- Thursday 13:45 – 22:45
- Pension – 3% Company Contribution
- Overtime Rate Applicable
- 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays
