A leading automotive organisation is undergoing a major transformation in how it designs, manages, and manufactures its vehicles, including the introduction of a new PLM ecosystem using 3DEXPERIENCE (DELMIA).
As part of this transformation, we are looking for a Manufacturing BOM Engineer – Configuration & Release Specialist to join the Manufacturing Release Operations team.
This role is responsible for ensuring product configurations, engineering changes, and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) are accurately validated and released at key vehicle programme milestones. You will work at the point where engineering intent becomes manufacturing reality, ensuring the correct parts, structures, and configurations are available to support successful vehicle builds.
This is a 12-month contract position paying £220 per day, based in Gaydon with hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the release of engineering changes, configuration updates, and Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) changes throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
- Ensure MBOM structures accurately reflect the latest product configurations and manufacturing requirements.
- Validate product structures, part relationships, and configuration data to maintain data integrity.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Change Actions, and release activities using DELMIA / 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, MP&L, and Change Management teams to resolve configuration issues and ensure release readiness.
- Monitor release progress, identify risks, and escalate issues impacting programme milestones.
- Support manufacturing teams with build issues, alerts, and internal deviations to ensure production accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of configuration, release, and PLM processes.

What We're Looking For
- Experience working within engineering configuration, product configuration, or engineering release environments.
- Strong understanding of MBOM/EBOM structures, product data, and engineering change processes.
- Experience managing Engineering Changes (ECOs, ECRs, ECNs, Change Actions, or similar).
- Ability to understand complex vehicle/product structures and ensure configuration accuracy.
- Experience working collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, and operational stakeholders.
- Experience with PLM systems such as 3DEXPERIENCE, DELMIA, Teamcenter, Windchill, or similar.
- Automotive or complex manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, WERS, GSPAS, JIRA, or Confluence would be advantageous.
