Role - Manufacturing Delivery Lead
Location - Luton/Macclesfield, UK (Hybrid)
Type - Contract (Inside IR35)
Role Overview
The Autonomous Manufacturing Delivery Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of a Cognite-based digital manufacturing transformation program for a Life Sciences client. The role combines program leadership, manufacturing domain expertise, data and AI transformation, stakeholder management, and value realization to drive the adoption of autonomous operations and data-driven decision-making across manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Own overall delivery of the Cognite program across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Lead planning, governance, risk management, and execution of the transformation roadmap.
- Manage delivery teams including solution architects, data engineers, manufacturing SMEs, and change management resources.
- Ensure delivery milestones, budget, quality, and business outcomes are achieved.
Manufacturing Transformation
- Drive the implementation of autonomous manufacturing capabilities using Cognite Data Fusion (CDF).
- Develop use cases focused on:
- Predictive maintenance
- Process optimization
- Asset performance management
- Digital twins
- Batch manufacturing analytics
- AI-driven operational insights
- Align solutions with GMP and Life Sciences regulatory requirements.

Client & Executive Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary delivery interface with client leadership.
- Engage manufacturing, quality, engineering, IT, OT, and supply chain stakeholders.
- Provide executive-level reporting on program status, benefits realization, and risks.
- Build trusted relationships with plant leadership and enterprise sponsors.
Cognite Platform Delivery
- Oversee deployment and scaling of Cognite Data Fusion.
- Ensure integration between:
- MES systems
- Historian platforms
- SCADA / PLC environments
- ERP systems
- Quality systems
- Data & AI platforms
- Drive data governance, data quality, and operationalization of analytics solutions.
Value Realization
- Define KPIs and business outcomes.
- Measure improvements in:
- OEE
- Yield
- Downtime reduction
- Asset reliability
- Energy efficiency
- Manufacturing productivity
- Build business cases for future autonomous operations initiatives.
Required Experience
Industry Experience
- 10+ years in manufacturing transformation or digital operations.
- Strong experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, or Medical Devices.
- Deep understanding of GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.

- Experience leading large-scale digital transformation programs (£5M+).
- Proven track record managing global and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong executive stakeholder management capabilities.
Technical Expertise
- Cognite Data Fusion (preferred).
- Industrial Data Platforms.
- Digital Twin solutions.
- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Industrial IoT and OT integration.
- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- AI/ML and advanced analytics use cases in manufacturing.
