Lead Manufacturing Readiness Engineer – Contract Opportunity

Location: Rugby, UK (Onsite) Contract Type: Contractor (Inside IR35) Duration: July 15, 2026 – July 31, 2027 Standard Hours: 40 hours per week


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Manufacturing Readiness Engineer to join our team in Rugby. This pivotal role will focus on ensuring robust manufacturing readiness for a new product, working within a purpose-built facility to drive process excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of CNC machining processes, ensuring top-quality and repeatability.
  • Drive capital equipment scoping, from proposal to installation and handover.
  • Develop factory layouts and workflows to optimize space, safety, and efficiency.
  • Conduct process planning to APQP standards, leading PFMEAs and process controls.
  • Collaborate globally, presenting proposals for manufacturing improvements and investments.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure alignment with EHS, quality, and cost targets.

Who You Are

  • A seasoned manufacturing or industrial engineer with a proven track record in CNC machining, process development, and factory layout.
  • Strong leadership and CAD design skills (preferably in Creo).
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process planning, equipment implementation, and production readiness.
  • A proactive problem-solver, comfortable engaging with senior leadership, and able to set ambitious goals.
  • Must be British, with Security Cleared (SC) clearance or eligibility to achieve it (UK Eyes Only work).
