We design, develop, and innovate products that help manufacturers drive aerospace innovation while enabling breakthroughs for a sustainable future.
Joining us means contributing to our vision: ‘Enabling Engineering Breakthroughs that Lead to a Better Tomorrow’. Position Overview
The Composite Manufacturing Engineer will join our team at our Stevenage, Hertfordshire, facility. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the manufacture of high-performance aerospace composite components, ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine composite processing techniques (including pre-preg and RTM out-of-autoclave systems) and optimise engineering assembly strategies for specialised aerospace composite parts.
- Drive a Zero Defects philosophy by improving manufacturing processes, reducing waste, and implementing effective quality control.
- Engage with customers to collaborate on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and support existing product programmes.
- Apply a data-driven approach to solve manufacturing challenges, using techniques like 8D and 5 Whys problem-solving methodologies.
- Create concise work instructions covering the entire manufacturing workflow—from laminating to assembly and finish painting—to ensure "Right First Time" execution.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) in tandem with an ERP system to streamline BOMs and routings.
- Specify and approve tooling requirements for moulding and assembly processes.
- Conduct PFMEA assessments, develop and implement control plans for diverse product lines.
- Act as the technical liaison for external customers, particularly in NPI projects.
- Demonstrate an engineering project management mindset, thrive in autonomous work environments, and own tasks from inception to completion.
- Foster strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively across operations teams and like-minded engineers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
