Manufacturing Engineer – Dalgety Bay, Scotland

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our growing high-tech manufacturing team. This role focuses on developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient production.
The ideal candidate will contribute across multiple disciplines and play a key role in:
- Scaling production
- Introducing new products
- Driving operational excellence
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Design and procure production tooling, fixtures, jigs, and test equipment to improve efficiency, repeatability, and product quality.
- Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, including process development, documentation, and validation.
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to production, resolving technical issues and minimizing downtime.
- Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and maintenance, along with process validation.
- Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities for:
- Productivity improvements
- Cost reduction
- Waste elimination
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including:
- Work instructions
- Process flows
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with:
- Company quality standards
- Health & safety requirements

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (preferred background)
- Industrial Engineering
- Or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role within:
- High-tech
- Electronics
- Precision mechanical environments
- Experience with:
- Process development
- Production support
- Continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo)
- Experience with:
- Root cause analysis
- Structured problem-solving methodologies
- Ability to:
- Work independently
- Contribute effectively in a small team
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of:
- Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma
- Continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 13485
- ISO 14001
- Experience with:
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Process validation
- Experience working with:
- Automation
- Robotics
- Advanced manufacturing technologies
- Prior experience in:
- Low-volume, high-mix manufacturing

Working Arrangements
- Hours: Standard 39-hour work week (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with 30 mins for lunch), including flexibility per the Flexible Working Policy.
- Location:
- Based in St. David’s Business Park, Dalgety Bay, Fife
- Hybrid work model (on-site + remote) supported where practicable
- Occasional travel may be required
