Manufacturing Engineer
Take ownership of manufacturing improvements with the autonomy to drive change across the shop floor Join a growing medical manufacturer where you'll become the go-to Manufacturing Engineer, leading projects from concept through implementation *Work with advanced CNC manufacturing, automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives in a highly regulated environment.
About the Company
Our client is an established manufacturer producing specialist medical products within a highly regulated environment. Renowned for quality, innovation, and continuous improvement, they continue to invest in both their people and manufacturing capability.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer who can:
- Take ownership of manufacturing improvements
- Support future automation projects
- Become a key technical presence across the production facility
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems on the shop floor, and driving real operational improvements rather than sitting behind a desk.
The Role
Working closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering, you'll play a key role in:
- Improving manufacturing processes
- Supporting CNC machining activities
- Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency across the business.
This isn’t a design-focused Manufacturing Engineer role. Instead, you’ll:
- Spend much of your time working alongside operators on the shop floor
- Prove out new manufacturing processes
- Support first article inspections
- Introduce continuous improvements and new equipment
- Over time, become the trusted person to independently lead manufacturing improvement activities and deliver engineering projects with minimal supervision.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
