About the Company
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading high-end low-volume client based in Woking who are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - Paint (New Model) to join their team on a long-term rolling contract basis.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Support cross-functional Design & Perceived Quality reviews for new models
- Work with Research & Development (R&D) on new material concepts and technologies
- Support Design Verification Plan (DVP) testing of new substrates
- Development of new Paint colours, including application sign-off
- Development of Paint application methods, including tooling definition
- PFMEA
- DFMEA
- Facility / Paint Shop capacity planning
- Facility layout planning
- Process & Documentation and Product Traceability methodology
- Hours Per Car generation / reporting
- Development of Paint application methods, including tooling definition
- Identifying any part-related concerns, including Quality maturation, and escalation

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- A degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or similar or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Ideally you will have experience with:
- paint development & application methodologies
- specification and procurement of paint jigs & fixtures
- planning and execution of new vehicle programs
- complex paint technologies / systems
- vehicle assembly processes
