About The Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and improve manufacturing processes for precision-machined components across a range of materials.
Collaborating with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Operations, you will:
- Introduce robust manufacturing solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure seamless product transitions into production, with a focus on Quality, Cost, and Delivery
- Contribute to automation projects, Design for Manufacture (DfM), and Lean principles across the business
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for precision-machined components
- Create and maintain machining processes for complex components with tight tolerances
- Support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Drive process improvements focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Provide Design for Manufacture (DfM) guidance during product development
- Support APQP activities, including:
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Control Plans
- MSA (Measurement System Analysis) studies
- Assist with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) interpretation/implementation
- Design and review tooling and fixturing solutions
- Review and approve manufacturing documentation, including:
- Work Instructions (WIs)
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Create and maintain manufacturing routings in SAP/Solumina
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities
- Identify and deliver automation opportunities in the manufacturing environment
- Ensure new products are production-ready through collaboration with:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Design Engineering
- Operations team
- Minimise machine shop downtime by addressing process issues
- Assist in process improvement and automation projects within the prismatic machining cell
- Support the Lead and Senior Manufacturing Engineers to meet departmental objectives and production targets

Skills & Experience
Essential
✔ Manufacturing engineering experience in a precision machining environment ✔ Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX) ✔ Knowledge of CNC machining processes and methods ✔ Cutting tool selection and optimisation expertise ✔ Fixture and tooling design skills ✔ Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies ✔ Familiarity with APQP and quality improvement tools ✔ Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices ✔ Collaborative working with engineering/operations functions
Desirable
🔹 CAM programming experience (preferably Edgecam or Siemens NX) 🔹 5-axis milling process development expertise 🔹 NC post-processing knowledge 🔹 SAP or Solumina system experience 🔹 Six Sigma certification or practical application skills 🔹 Experience implementing manufacturing automation solutions 🔹 GD&T, DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), and PPAP methodology knowledge
