Manufacturing Engineering Technician I
About the Role
Join our Manufacturing Engineering team, where you'll contribute to world-class manufacturing operations. As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I, you'll work with sophisticated equipment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal production performance. You'll resolve technical issues, perform calibrations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that help us deliver essential products to our customers worldwide. This position offers excellent opportunities for growth and development while working with advanced technology in a quality-focused environment.

If you join this team before the transaction closes (~H2 2026), your employment is expected to transfer to Astorg. For more details, see:

Work Schedule
- 10-hour shifts
Environmental & Work Conditions
The role requires adherence to the following conditions:
- Can lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Must comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Cleanroom policies:
- No hair products, jewellery, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair
- Operation in:
- Cold rooms/freezers (-22°F / -6°C)
- Fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold shifts)
- Laboratory settings with loud machinery/rapid flashing lights
- Strong chemical/bio-odours
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (safety glasses, gowns, gloves, lab coats, earplugs etc.)
- Standing for full shifts
- Exposure to office, warehouse, and outdoor weather conditions
- Working at heights

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education or technical trade certification (e.g., apprenticeship, traineeship)
- Hands-on technical experience in an engineering environment
- Familiarity with relevant calibration standards and methods
- Understanding of Quality Systems
Preferred Skills & Interests
- No prior engineering/engineering technology experience required, but preference given to those with relevant fields of study
- Strong mechanical & electrical troubleshooting for equipment repairs/maintenance
- CAD software proficiency and ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Skills in:
- Instrument calibrations (validated specifications)
- Technical problem-solving
- Attention to detail & organizational management
- Clear written & verbal communication
- Additional abilities:
- Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently
- Commitment to safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement
- Teamwork & collaboration with stakeholders
- Professional etiquette

Responsibilities
- Provide equipment repair and maintenance support
- Conduct preventative maintenance (plant/facilities/labs) to improve uptime and reliability
- Assisting specialised contractors with routine/reactive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshooting and resolving:
- Processing equipment faults and failures
- Safety/service/product quality impacts
- Repair faulty manufacturing, facility, and lab machinery
- Support spare parts/materials control and accurate shortage issuance
- Participate in safety reporting, initiatives, and training
- Understand and uphold instrumentation calibrations (validated specifications)
- Maintain accurate CMMS records (computerised maintenance management systems)
- Ensure ethical and professional compliance in all engagements
- Enforce 5S principles to keep workspaces clean/efficient
- Provide site cover for technical support based on local procedures
- Work on projects assigned by engineering management
- Maintain GMP compliance with company rules/policies/procedures
