Manufacturing Engineer
Location: North Wales
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Working Hours:
- 39 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
The Opportunity
An established manufacturing business is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in improving production performance and supporting the introduction of innovative products.
Working closely with production, quality, and design teams, you'll be responsible for developing robust manufacturing solutions, driving operational improvements, and ensuring production processes remain efficient, safe, and capable.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on manufacturing support with project-based process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support to production, identifying and resolving manufacturing issues to minimize downtime.
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and output.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Support the introduction of new products, ensuring manufacturing processes are ready for production.
- Specify, develop, and implement tooling, fixtures, and production equipment where required.
- Manage engineering changes, ensuring manufacturing documentation, routings, and Bills of Materials remain accurate.
- Investigate production and quality issues, carrying out root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process standards.
- Carry out process validation activities and risk assessments to ensure stable and repeatable manufacturing methods.
- Work collaboratively with design, quality, and supply chain teams to improve manufacturability and product performance.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing principles, helping to embed continuous improvement across the production environment.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and quality standards.

About You
- Previous experience within a Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineering role.
- HNC, HND, or Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within a precision engineering or industrial production environment.
- Experience delivering Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience using CAD software and ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- A proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
