Job Description: The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Operations Manager at 3M Bangor, Northern Ireland, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here you will make an impact by:

  • Being responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility
  • Managing and coordinating all production and warehouse manufacturing operations
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Developing and implementing strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
  • Monitoring and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of supervisors and production staff
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance, to achieve company goals
  • Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and reports related to manufacturing operations
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies
  • Promoting Operational Excellence across the full production team
  • Supporting the site leadership team as a senior member of the Plant Leadership Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
  • Strong leader with a proven track record in manufacturing management, process improvement, and team development
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with ERP Process (preferably SAP) within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the paper manufacturing industry

Job specifics:

  • Full time role
  • The role will be 100% on site at the 3M Bangor Plant in Northern Ireland
  • May include infrequent travel [domestic/international] to collaborate & network with suppliers & other 3M facilities to advance the site and support personal development
