Manufacturing Operative (Cables)

£12.71 - £16.39 per hour + Enhanced OT

Kinetic Manchester are looking for numerous Machine Minders to join a long established manufacturer in Blackley - a company with 120+ years of history and a reputation for building the infrastructure that keeps the UK moving. Shifts rotate weekly: 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 - you must be able to work both. *** A DBS Background check will be completed upon offer ***

What You'll Be Doing as the Cable Making Operative

  • Keeping cable production lines running smoothly throughout your shift
  • Making small machine adjustments to maintain performance
  • Ensuring product quality meets required standards
  • Spotting and reporting compliance issues
  • Operating machinery following SOPs and process specs
  • Completing production sheets (output, downtime, scrap)
  • Carrying out 5S duties to keep the area organised
  • Investigating process issues using data and SPC charts
  • Setting up and safely starting production lines
  • Completing safety checks
  • Testing finished reels/drums and recording results
  • Updating waste and scrap records
