Role Purpose
We are looking for a Manufacturing Improvement Manager to lead and support Lean and Continuous Improvement projects across our manufacturing operation. The role will focus on improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee engagement within a fast-paced, made-to-order manufacturing environment.
Our business sells window blinds online and manufactures customer-specific products on site. The Manufacturing Improvement Manager will play a key role in improving how work flows through the factory, reducing waste, solving operational problems, and helping teams deliver better performance every day.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on in a manufacturing environment, working closely with production teams, and turning improvement ideas into practical, measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement & Lean Projects
- Identify, prioritise, and deliver Lean and Continuous Improvement projects across manufacturing, packing, despatch, and supporting operational areas.
- Lead improvement activities focused on reducing waste, improving flow, increasing productivity, and improving right-first-time performance.
- Use Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, standard work, value stream mapping, visual management, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methods.
- Support the development of a culture where continuous improvement is part of day-to-day work.
- Facilitate workshops and improvement events with operators, team leaders, supervisors, and managers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
