Manufacturing Quality Manager
A pivotal role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Manufacturing Quality Manager oversees quality control processes and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) to drive operational excellence. This leadership position ensures products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory standards, aligning with the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) framework.
The role spans multiple areas: ✔ Quality control management ✔ Cross-functional SQDC collaboration ✔ Leadership of the Quality team (training, mentoring, and culture building) ✔ Cross-functional leadership with Engineering, Production & Supply Chain ✔ Customer-focused problem-solving and root cause analysis ✔ Data-driven performance monitoring and continuous improvement
Ultimately, the Manager will foster a strong quality and safety culture, engaging staff to uphold GE Vernova’s core principles while maintaining robust relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
Responsibilities
Quality Control Management
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to meet manufacturing standards.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, certifications, and customer requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and nurture a culture aligned with GE Vernova’s ‘ Way’, ensuring clear communication within the Quality organization.
- Establish team alignment with operational goals, mentoring staff while balancing quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular training sessions to upskill the team.

Process Improvement
- Drive data-driven process improvements using metrics to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Implement and monitor a continuously improving quality system, reducing variation through process control and analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to maintain quality standards.
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication and problem-solving for quality challenges.
Customer Focus
- Resolve customer quality concerns swiftly and transparently, ensuring high satisfaction.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of non-conformances, audits, and inspections.
- Prepare and present actionable quality performance reports.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality management within manufacturing (Engineering focus).
- Proven ability in technical interpretation (drawings, specifications, tolerances).

Desirable Qualifications
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified QE (Quality Engineer).
- ISO 9001 Lead or Internal Auditor certification.
- Hands-on experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP, FMEA.
- Industry exposure in automotive, aviation, or defence sectors.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
- UK Safety Certification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely).
Key Skills
- Technical interpretation of standards, specifications, and process control.
- Proficiency in TQM/TQC, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Problem-solving expertise using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA).
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation experience.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel to supplier or customer sites may be required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including prolonged standing/walking.
