Job Purpose

At Aston Martin, our Manufacturing Engineers play a pivotal role in turning world-class vehicle designs into world-class manufacturing processes.

We're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team at Gaydon. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who is passionate about continuous improvement, problem-solving, and delivering manufacturing excellence.

As part of a team responsible for supporting both current and future vehicle programmes, you'll help develop, optimise, and improve manufacturing processes across our assembly operations. Working at the intersection of engineering, production, quality, and facilities, you'll ensure that every process delivers the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and craftsmanship expected of the Aston Martin brand.

If you enjoy finding smarter ways of working, leading improvement projects, and influencing how vehicles are built, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

No two days are the same in Manufacturing Engineering. One day you might be:

  • Investigating a production issue on the shop floor
  • Designing improved assembly processes
  • Developing tooling solutions
  • Supporting the launch of a new manufacturing initiative

You'll be responsible for:

  • Creating and maintaining detailed process documentation, including visual work instructions, tooling requirements, safety standards, and quality controls
  • Working closely with logistics, facilities, and production teams to design efficient workstation layouts, improve material presentation, and support the introduction of new equipment and facilities

You'll play a key role in:

  • Selecting and implementing tooling, jigs, and fixtures that help improve build quality, productivity, and operator safety
  • Contributing to PFMEA activities, process control planning, and problem-solving investigations, helping to identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
