About Lush

Who We Are

We are the inventors of the bath bomb—but we are far more than cosmetics. A globally recognised brand, we are a partly employee-owned, family-run company that believes in a meaningful, socially responsible business model.

Our core commitment is to "give back to the world what we take from it," championing causes like:

  • The Living Wage – Adhering to the principle "a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay".
  • No animal testing – Putting people and ethics first.
  • Sustainability – Promoting regeneration and transparency in our operations.

Role Overview

This is an impactful, hands-on leadership role within our manufacturing and production facilities in Poole. At Lush, safety belongs on the factory floor, not behind a desk.

We are seeking a visionary HSE professional who thrives in practical, People-focused environments. As Senior HSE Manager, you will mentor a robust safety team and lead organisational change by embedding proactive, data-driven safety leadership.

Your Key Challenges:

  • Transform reactive compliance into a culture of prevention and operational excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional risk management—balancing physical, environmental, and operational hazards while harmonising with wellness, training, and legal requirements.
  • Foster engagement at every level, from the workforce to board-level decision-makers.

⚠️ Note: We reserve the right to close this vacancy early based on response volume or changing business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Safety & Engineering Compliance

  • Develop health and safety management systems with a focus on ISO 45001 alignment.
  • Oversee risk assessments, including:
    • Machinery Safety Risk Assessments
    • Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
    • COSSH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Assessments
  • Lead on site modifications, machinery installations, and facilities expansions in compliance with CDM (Construction, Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Control the permit-to-work system, ensuring extensive vetting, induction, and compliance for external contractors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
