Filtronic is an award-winning company, designing and manufacturing world-leading RF, microwave and millimetre-wave (mmWave) solutions that enable mission-critical applications principally across the space and defence sectors.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a Senior NPI Engineer to play a key role in introducing innovative RF and microwave products into manufacturing. Working at the interface between engineering and production, you'll help ensure new products transition smoothly from concept and prototype through to stable, high-quality, repeatable manufacture.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced RF technologies, collaborating with talented engineers while making a real impact on products that are used around the world.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll support the introduction of new RF and microwave products into manufacturing, helping ensure they are robust, scalable and capable of meeting demanding performance requirements.
Working closely with the Lead NPI Engineer, RF Design, Mechanical Engineering, Test, Quality and Manufacturing teams, you'll:
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype through to production release
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for new products
- Contribute to Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities
- Analyse RF test data to improve product performance, manufacturing yield and process capability
- Investigate manufacturing and RF performance issues using structured problem-solving techniques
- Support production ramp-up and continuous improvement activities
- Design and implement manufacturing tooling and fixtures where required
- Produce clear technical documentation, manufacturing procedures and engineering reports

Requirements
We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving technical manufacturing challenges and working across multiple engineering disciplines, with:
- HND, degree or equivalent practical experience in Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience introducing new RF and microwave products into manufacturing
- A background within RF, microwave, electronics, aerospace, defence, semiconductor or similar high-precision manufacturing environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data
- Experience of manufacturing process development and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, DMAIC or FMEA
- Experience using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis would be advantageous
- Familiarity with RF test equipment such as Vector Network Analysers (VNAs), Spectrum Analysers and Signal Generators would be beneficial
