Corin is launching an exciting new service and we’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our growing team. You'll work weekend shifts only – Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 5:30am – 6:30pm – giving you Monday to Thursday completely free every week!

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead a team supporting the manufacturing operations?

Due to the growth we are seeing within manufacturing, we are now looking for a Manufacturing Shift Manager to join the leadership team. You will drive efficiency, safety, and quality on the production floor, as well as supporting the team with day-to-day management activities (including resource planning, training and development, and performance management).

To set you up for success, you'll receive comprehensive training during the week, tailored to your experience and learning pace. Training will be on Mondays to Fridays - we can be flexible to fit around you, and offer an initial day shift, rotating earlies and lates shifts, just earlies or lates, or nights.

You'll benefit from a salary of £40,000.00 plus shift allowance starting from 25%, rewarding you from day one.

Permanent Shift Pattern (after training complete)
Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5:30am - 6:30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Training Shift Patterns available:

  • Earles: 5.30am - 2:00pm Monday to Thursday, 5:30am - 11:00am on Friday
  • Lates: 1:45pm - 10:15pm Monday to Thursday, 10:45am - 4:15pm on Friday
  • Days: 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 4:30pm on Friday
  • Nights: 10:00pm - 5:45am Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm - 8:50pm on Friday

  • Manage team members within your shift to ensure that they are working to company and legislative requirements at all times and promoting a collaborative and positive work environment across the floor.
  • Ensure all the team are working in the most effective way to maximise productivity and if there is any uncertainty in team members' performance, this should be managed accordingly.
  • Organise shift activities and resource to ensure that production targets are met in accordance with specifications and in line with work instructions or documented processes.
  • Overall people management activities which includes:
    • Providing and organising training that supports improvement activities and development of team members.
    • Monthly scheduled one on one meetings with all team members to check in on their health, wellbeing, and personal development.
    • Plan and manage all team members' training and development ensuring they are effectively trained by the Senior Manufacturing Machinists and eTMS is completed in a timely manner.
    • Conduct monthly and quarterly appraisals setting training and development KPI’s.
  • Take responsibilities for Health & Safety activities across your shift which will include ensuring that all manufacturing equipment is in safe working order and operatives are maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Oversee the management of all records and documentation ensuring it’s completed with 100% accuracy, compliant, and legible.
  • Install accountability and ownership of the production output into your team through a positive approach where you set clear and visible daily, weekly, and monthly targets/goals – recognise your team's and individual achievements.
  • Seek to continuously improve methods of operation and efficiency by gaining feedback from your team to promote a continuous improvement environment.
  • Investigate exceptional issues of non-conformance or trending, repeatable issues to root cause using 8D methodology and report to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Work closely with Head of Manufacturing and planning team to ensure we have the right raw materials to manufacture the correct products against plan.
  • Ensure there is sufficient skills and resource to support the plan and release and request additional Operatives in line with requirements.
  • Be involved in relevant investigations to identify and correct root causes of quality related concerns.
  • Proactively build relationships with other areas of the business to ensure that goals and expectations are achievable and you are working towards the same goal e.g., Engineering, Planning, Quality, HR.
  • Hold a handover shift meeting with the Manufacturing Shift Manager on the previous shift and Hold a Shift Start Up (SSU) meeting in order to give daily targets and plans to your team – prepare and escalate any issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment and ability to understand the processes across the team.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineering, quality, planning, and supply chain teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Positive, collaborative, organised, and ‘can do’ attitude to work.
  • Have completed or be working towards a Leadership qualification e.g., ILM 5.
