Production Team Leader – Gas Turbines Systems Division

Afternoon Shift (2pm–10pm), Monday–Friday + ~10th weekend shift

We’re seeking a Senior Production Team Leader to oversee daily operations in our Gas Turbines Systems Division, ensuring safety, quality, and timely production while driving continuous improvement and team empowerment. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to fostering a high-performing workforce.


Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Operations Leadership

  • Lead the Team Improvement Board (TIB) and conduct daily line walks
  • Ensure adherence to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), 5S/Safety, FIFO, Day by the Hour, and on/off pace standards
  • Monitor and verify maintenance, safety, and operational protocols

2. Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Enforce compliance with safety and quality standards, maintaining up-to-date audits
  • Hold staff accountable for procedural adherence and corrective actions

3. Team Management

  • Oversee team dynamics, work discipline, well-being, and engagement
  • Chair investigations and disciplinaries to uphold company policies
  • Ensure work-life balance and proactive support for team members

4. Training & Development

  • Oversee team onboarding and skills accreditation (maintain skills matrix)
  • Conduct one-on-one developmental discussions and create growth plans
  • Identify and close skills gaps through targeted training

5. Standard Work & Risk Management

  • Own and implement standardised work procedures and risk assessments
  • Train team members on Safe Systems of Work and Process Confirmations
  • Ensure accountability for procedural adherence

6. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Promptly address production and operational issues
  • Take ownership of corrective measures to sustain high performance

Essential Requirements

  • Availability: Willingness to work afternoon shifts (2pm–10pm) on weekdays, plus one weekend shift every 10 weeks
  • Leadership: Minimum 2 years’ experience in production leadership, with track record of building high-performing teams
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3–5, HND, or equivalent (e.g., Business/Engineering) or equivalent experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Problem-Solving: Mindset focused on continuous improvement and practical knowledge of problem-solving tools
  • Performance Management: Understanding of key production metrics (e.g., efficiency, yield, defect rates)
  • Data & Compliance:
    • Ability to make data-driven decisions
    • Proficiency in Excel and SAP (advantageous)
  • Professional Conduct: Strong ethical standards with a Safety First mindset
  • Industries: Foundation in Lean principles and customer-centric delivery

Desired (but not essential)

  • IOSH Safety & Health Certificate (bookkeeping or operational specialisation)
