Job Description
Manufacturing Operative
Location: Frome
Johnson Controls Frome is a high-pressure die-casting foundry, manufacturing sprinkler frames for the global market. We are looking for a Manufacturing Operative to join our team on a continental shift pattern. This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, where safety, quality, and teamwork are key to our success.
What You Will Do
- Work as part of a shift team to manufacture components in line with the production plan
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively
- Carry out checks to ensure product quality meets required standards
- Support smooth production flow by highlighting issues and helping reduce downtime
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
- Follow all site and group Environment, Health & Safety policies and procedures
How You Will Do It
- Work safely at all times, following training and site procedures
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors on shift
- Take responsibility for your own tasks while supporting the wider team
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe practices, or quality concerns
- Contribute to a positive, cooperative team environment focused on continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
- Ability to follow procedures while working independently when required
- A reliable, practical, and proactive approach

Desirable:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
- Experience working with machinery or within a foundry/industrial environment
- An interest in continuous improvement and learning new skills
