To support the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacture of chemical-based products used in Tracerco’s technologies. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals beginning their career in chemical manufacturing, offering hands-on experience and development opportunities within a global business.

Essential:

  • A-levels, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific subject.
  • Demonstrated interest in working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures accurately.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or lab-based role.
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH and chemical safety practices.
  • Familiarity with batch documentation or manufacturing systems.

  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to working safely.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in a technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Batch Production

  • Manufacture chemical batches in accordance with established formulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately measure and weigh raw materials using lab and production equipment.
  • Ensure batch integrity through careful adherence to instructions and process controls.

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Conduct in-process checks to verify that products meet defined quality specifications.
  • Accurately complete batch manufacturing records and related documentation in line with quality and compliance standards.
  • Report deviations or issues promptly to senior chemists or the team leader.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate standard chemical manufacturing equipment, including mixers, reactors, and filtration systems.
  • Support basic maintenance and cleaning routines to ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
  • Assist with calibration or inspection activities as required.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow COSHH guidelines for the handling, use, and disposal of chemicals.
  • Actively participate in maintaining a safe working environment by reporting hazards, near misses, or incidents.

Stock & Inventory Support

  • Support the management of raw material and consumable inventories, including labelling and storage.
  • Record chemical usage and help ensure materials are ready for upcoming production schedules.

Continuous Improvement & Training

  • Participate in on-the-job training to build chemical manufacturing and product knowledge.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, R&D, and Quality where needed.
