The vacancy
DN Colleges Group are seeking to recruit a full-time Manufacturing Trainer Assessor to support learners and employers across North Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
This role is primarily focused on the delivery and assessment of Level 2 Performing Manufacturing Operations, with potential to also deliver programmes such as Lean Organisation Management and Business Improvement Techniques. Delivery will include workplace-based training, assessment of competence, onsite sessions and one-to-one learner support.
You will work closely with learners based at key employer sites, supporting them to develop their skills, build confidence and successfully complete their programme. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong manufacturing or warehousing experience who is passionate about helping others progress in their career.
We are looking for candidates with recent and relevant experience within the manufacturing sector. Ideally, you will already hold an assessor qualification and a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area. However, if you have strong manufacturing or warehousing experience but do not yet hold an assessor qualification, there may be an opportunity to achieve this as part of the role.
Experience of internal quality assurance, or an associated qualification, would be an advantage.
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent communication skills, flexibility, strong organisation skills and the ability to work independently with a high level of accountability. A strong employer and customer focus is essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships between employers, learners and the College.
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess high-quality training across manufacturing and related programmes in a range of settings, including the workplace, classroom and online.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning sessions in line with College, awarding body and funding requirements.
- Support, guide and review learners throughout their programme to help them achieve successful completion and progression.
- Engage with employers to understand workforce needs, promote training opportunities and support business development activity.
- Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and complete all required administration.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes, including course evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance provision and improve the learner experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
