Marina Operative
Job Opportunity: Marina Operative
Location: Brighton Marina
Contract: Permanent Hours: Rota dependent
Are you looking to build a career in the marine industry? Do you enjoy variety, responsibility, and working as part of a dedicated team? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.
Premier Marinas is seeking to recruit a Marina Operative to join our friendly and professional team at Brighton Marina. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. With full training provided, you’ll develop valuable new skills while helping us deliver the exceptional customer experience we’re known for.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving a range of duties across the marina. You’ll work as part of a rota, which will include some weekends and bank holidays.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
- Friendly, customer-focused, and confident communicating with a wide range of people
- Confident using computer systems, electronic point-of-sales systems, and processing financial transactions
- Positive, enthusiastic, and happy to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a busy marine environment, often in adverse weather conditions
- Reliable, adaptable, and keen to learn new skills
- Able to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and bank holidays
- A boating or marina experience is an advantage—but not essential, as full training will be provided
- The ability to speak French or Dutch would be an advantage but not essential
- Experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow with us.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
