Marine Agent Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future

The success of the programme will rely on your skills, qualifications, and experience when you apply. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.


What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), in the Marine and Tunnels Section, your role will include:

  • Leading the safe and effective execution of offshore construction activities as Project Manager’s representative at the offshore worksite.
  • Coordinating site teams, vessels, marine plant & equipment, and daily operations to deliver works in line with:
    • The project programme
    • Method statements
    • Technical requirements
  • Maintaining accurate offshore records, including:
    • Daily progress reports
    • Permits
    • Safety briefings
    • Task planning
  • Championing health, safety, and environmental standards offshore, including:
    • Leading Toolbox Talks
    • Conducting pre-task briefings
    • Driving behavioural safety initiatives
  • Interfacing with:
    • Onshore support teams
    • Offshore Superintendents
    • Subcontractor teams to ensure clear communication and delivery continuity across project phases.

  • A deep understanding of:
    • Safe systems of work
    • HSE standards specific to offshore construction
  • Hands-on experience leading:
    • Site operations for marine construction projects
    • Offshore works delivery aligned with:
      • The programme
      • Technical specifications
  • Proficiency in:
    • Producing and managing permits, including:
      • Hot Works
      • Confined Space
      • Working at Height
    • Interpreting and producing:
      • Technical documents
      • Method statements
      • Risk assessments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to:
    • Work independently
    • Take ownership of offshore delivery
  • A proven track record of:
    • Contributing to project delivery
    • Driving site productivity
  • Knowledge of:
    • Quality processes
    • Non-conformance management
    • Audit systems
  • Experience with site recording and productivity tracking tools
  • 3–5 years’ experience in offshore/marine construction delivery

Desirable Experience

Additional strengths include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of NEC or similar project management contracting frameworks
  • Experience in temporary works coordination
  • Ability to produce:
    • Handover documentation
    • Quality Assurance (QA) records
  • Experience in:
    • Marine logistics planning
    • Vessel coordination
    • Marine piling, lifting, survey, and diving operations

Certifications & Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications in:
    • Construction, engineering, or maritime operations (e.g., HNC/HND/BSc/BEng), or equivalent experience in:
      • Construction
      • Civil engineering
      • Project management
  • CSCS card and SMSTS (or equivalent HSE site management training) required
  • Sea Survival certification, or willingness to obtain during onboarding (e.g., STCW or OPITO-approved BOSIET, or equivalent)
  • Current UK driving licence
