Marine Agent Opportunity – Supporting Sizewell C
Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future
As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), you’ll support the groundbreaking construction of Sizewell C—a 3.2-gigawatt power station providing low-carbon electricity for ~6 million homes, with plans to operate for 60+ years. This role is based within the Marine and Tunnels Section.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the Project Manager’s offshore representative, leading safe, effective execution of construction activities for a self-delivery team.
- Manage site teams, vessels, marine plant, equipment, and daily operations to ensure work aligns with programme, method statements, and technical specifications.
- Maintain accurate offshore records including:
- Daily progress reports
- Permits (hot works, confined spaces, working at height)
- Safety briefings
- Task planning
- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards offshore:
- Lead Toolbox Talks, pre-task briefings, and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Liaise with onshore support teams, Offshore Superintendents, and subcontractor teams for seamless communication and project continuity.

What We Need from You
Essential
- Deep knowledge of safe systems of work and HSE standards in offshore construction.
- 3–5 years’ experience leading site operations for marine construction projects.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver offshore works on time/scope in compliance with programmes and specifications.
- Proficiency in managing permits (Hot Works, Confined Space, Working at Height).
- Strong technical skills: producing/interpretating method statements and risk assessments.
- Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently, owner-driving offshore delivery.
- Record of project-driven results in improving site productivity.
- Knowledge of quality processes, non-conformance, and audit management.
- Familiarity with site recording and productivity tools.
- Current or willingness to obtain relevant marine/offshore certifications.
Desirable
- Experience with NEC contract frameworks.
- Temporary works coordination background.
- Production of handover and QA documentation.
- Expertise in marine logistics, vessel coordination.
- Knowledge of marine piling, lifting, survey, and diving operations.

Certifications & Qualifications
- Formal qualification (e.g., BSc/BEng, HNC/HND) in construction, civil engineering, or project management (or equivalent experience).
- CSCS card + SMSTS (or equivalent HSE site safety training).
- Offshore survival certification (e.g., STCW, OPITO BOSIET), or commitment to obtain.
- Current UK driver’s licence.
