Location: HMNB Portsmouth, PO1 3LT
Salary: £20,101.13 (plus excellent benefits) Apprenticeship Qualification: Level 3 Business Administrator Training Provider: Serco Expected Duration: 24 months (Full-Time Contract) Working Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hrs, Monday–Friday) Start Date: 7th September 2026

Key Responsibilities
As a Maritime Operations Administrator Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in supporting offshore operations from the shoreside operations base. Core duties include:
Operational Planning & Coordination
- Support the planning and coordination of vessel operations to ensure alignment with training and mission requirements
- Maintain vessel programmes, tasking plans, and operational schedules in line with planning frameworks
- Monitor vessel availability, maintenance periods, and operational readiness

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Liaise with vessel crews, engineers, and internal stakeholders to gather, verify, and distribute critical operational information
- Coordinate crew movements, travel logistics, and resource allocation for seamless operations
Administrative & Compliance Support
- Update operational systems, records, and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and security standards
- Prepare reports, briefings, and administrative documentation to support decision-making
- Assist in responding to urgent task reprioritisation in a dynamic environment
Technical & Professional Development
- Complete the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, including coursework and assessments
- Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and proactive adaptability in a disciplined, safety-focused environment
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in planning processes
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and external partners
What We Ask of You
We’re looking for candidates who:
- Are a British national with a valid UK passport and the ability to obtain a Security Clearance
- Hold a 'impose=18} years of age
- Have minimum 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
- Can obtain an ENG1 Unrestricted Medical Certificate
- Meet our flexibility requirements, including access to both college and sea-based training phases
- Possess a proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and adapt
- Can work effectively in a structured, team-oriented environment
