Market Assistant
3 months contract
Location: Fully site-based in central London.
Interview Format: Short showroom activity + brief face-to-face interview
Enhanced screening: 5-year referencing + DBS required
Overall purpose
We are recruiting for a talented individual to join our Showroom team as a Market Assistant.
The role will be full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Sunday, with two days off per week. Shift timings may vary into late nights and early mornings on busy days to support business requirements. You will be required to be available to work weekends and public holidays, commit to this role on a permanent basis, and hold a valid work visa if required.
The ideal candidate will find motivation in covering a support role, which requires extensive people skills and a hands-on approach. Please note this is not a wholesale, retail or desk-based role.
Key responsibilities
- Work under the guidance of the Showroom management team to ensure the highest service and operational standards are reflected at all times.
- Assist in the set up and breakdown of the Showroom prior to market. Supporting the maintenance of the Showroom and having a hands-on approach: tidying displays, neatly folding product, reorganising storage areas and moving samples.
- Ensure Showroom floor standards are immaculate at all times. Ensuring Visual Merchandising is upkept and product standards are checked: Steaming, lint rolling, product standards and ensuring all product is on the correct branded hanger.
- Keeping track of all Showroom equipment and props, ensuring inventories and checklists are completed weekly.
- Focus on maintaining all back of house standards, allowing for the highest product care at all times.
- Deliver a warm and genuine welcome to our internal and external clients.
- Work to be a key member of your category area - building product knowledge to be able to identify products from different seasons/edits. Ensure a clear understanding of the brand buy and key looks of the season.
- Assist in receiving, unpack and logging of all seasonal deliveries and place them on the Showroom floor.
- Support with organising Commercial and Runway looks in order.
- Support in stickering barcode labels onto samples to allow for sample tracking.
- Support in pulling product and setting up the Showroom floor when required for projects and meetings.
- Creating sample send outs and logging returns on Launchmetrics and updating excel sample request documents.
- Support in creating shipping invoices to ship the collection to other Showrooms.
- Assist in locating, packing and sending the collections to other Showrooms/Departments and clear out of previous seasons.
- Unpacking returning product and ensuring all is put back into correct storage areas.
- Support the Wholesale team during market appointments – ensuring the quick turn around of model dressing and product requests.
- Be a Clients’ brand ambassador by wearing the provided client’s uniform when required in line with the Clients’ grooming guidelines.
