Hanson Search is proud to be partnering with a leading micro mobility operator, working at the forefront of sustainable urban transport across Europe.

A Commercially Focused Market Development Role in Sustainable Transport

As cities across the UK increasingly embrace shared micromobility as part of their transport strategies, our client is seeking a Market Development Manager to strengthen relationships with local decision makers, grow ridership across existing markets and unlock new market opportunities. This is a rare opportunity to combine public affairs, commercial strategy and operational delivery in a fast-growing, purpose-driven business.

Market Development Manager: Role Overview

As Market Development Manager, you will:

  • Build and manage lasting relationships with key city stakeholders and local ecosystems, including public transport authorities, city administrators, associations and partner organisations, acting as the main point of contact for city stakeholders.
  • Evaluate new market entry opportunities, assessing commercial viability, regulatory readiness and strategic fit, and represent the company to towns and cities considering shared micromobility services.
  • Lead pre-tender and tender work to position the organisation as the partner of choice, and manage commercial and contractual negotiations with cities, balancing regulatory expectations with financial objectives.
  • Own city-level P&Ls, developing a clear understanding of the key drivers of financial performance in each market, and leverage data, analytics and market research to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with local policy and operations teams, as well as central growth and product teams, on pricing and product strategy to optimise for growth and profitability while supporting the goals of city stakeholders.
  • Provide structured feedback between local markets and central teams to continuously improve playbooks, processes and frameworks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
