Market Intelligence Analyst
Global Commodity & Hedging Manager
Location: Chiswick, London | Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3-4 days in the office) Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + Benefits
About the Role
Shape the commodity strategy of a global FMCG business.
We are partnering with a leading global food manufacturer to appoint a Global Commodity & Hedging Manager within their Global Ingredients team.
This is a high-impact, commercially focused role designed for you to combine commodity market intelligence, quantitative analysis, and financial risk management to influence sourcing decisions across a global manufacturing network.
Collaborating closely with Global Category Managers and Procurement Leadership, you will provide actionable insights on critical raw materials including:
- Cocoa
- Wheat
- Sugar
- Vegetable oils
You’ll help the business manage market volatility and optimise purchasing strategies. While expertise in agricultural commodities is advantageous, we welcome professionals with strong analytical or hedging experience from markets such as metals or energy.

Responsibilities
- Produce market intelligence and commodity research covering:
- Global agricultural commodities
- Energy markets
- Industrial commodities
- Build and maintain:
- Supply-demand models
- Price forecasting models
- Analyse macroeconomic, geopolitical, and market fundamentals to identify pricing risks and opportunities
- Develop commodity outlooks and actionable recommendations that directly influence global procurement decisions
- Design and support commodity hedging strategies using:
- Futures
- Options
- Swaps
- Other financial instruments
- Monitor global hedge positions, exposure reporting, and compliance
- Partner with senior procurement leaders on:
- Sourcing strategy
- Supplier negotiations
- Support digital procurement transformation through improved analytics, reporting, and market intelligence tools
- Present complex market analysis to senior stakeholders across multiple regions
Requirements
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Experience in:
- Commodity research
- Commodity risk
- Hedging
- Commodity market analysis
- Hands-on involvement in relevant commodity markets (e.g. agriculture, metals, energy)
- Deep understanding of:
- Price drivers
- Supply-demand fundamentals
- Global markets
- Proficiency in commodity hedging and financial risk management
- Knowledge of financial instruments such as:
- Futures
- Options
- Swaps
- Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, with:
- Strong Excel proficiency
- Experience building:
- Forecasting models
- Econometric models
- Statistical models
- Ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear, actionable commercial recommendations
