Market Manager High Voltage – Hitachi Energy
Location: United Kingdom
About the Role
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity as Market Manager High Voltage. In this role, you will:
- Lead the local business unit in the UK, overseeing commercial development and market positioning.
- Act as the key interface between the market, customers, and internal organisation, driving commercial strategy and team leadership.
- Ensure the delivery of business targets with full responsibility for UK operations.
You will report to the Demand Marketing & Sales Manager (Northern Europe, High Voltage Products) and lead a cross-functional team of sales, tendering, and support professionals (typically 15–25 people, both direct and indirect) across the UK.
The role carries full accountability for business performance, including:
- Order intake
- Profitability
- Market share

Key Responsibilities
Define and execute a UK market strategy aligned with Hub Europe objectives.
- Drive growth initiatives and business plans across the HV portfolio.
- Identify and develop key market segments, including:
- TSOs (Transmission System Operators)
- DNOs (Distribution Network Operators)
- EPCs (Engineering, Procurement & Construction)
- Data centres
- Renewable energy projects
- Promote full HV portfolio, covering:
- GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear)
- AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear)
- LTB (Load Breaker Systems)
- Hybrid solutions
- Power Quality
- EconiQ products
Own and manage key customer relationships, leading complex sales processes, including:
- Pricing and contractual negotiations
- Coordination between:
- Sales
- Tendering teams
- Project management
- Factories to ensure alignment
Hold full ownership of the UK HV business P&L, including:
- Order intake
- Revenue
- Margin
- Cash performance

Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and coach sales managers and junior professionals, driving growth and accountability.
Your Background
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field. (Market management candidates may be considered if backed by strong technical experience)
Key Experience Requirements
- 10+ years in HV business, sales, or market management.
- Proven track record leading teams and business units in cross-functional organisations.
- Strong expertise in High Voltage substations, EPC projects, or related technologies.
- Good understanding of the UK energy market (National Grid, DNOs, EPCs, renewables).
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required by the role.
