About the Role
Hitachi Energy is hiring for a Market Manager High Voltage role, offering an exciting opportunity to lead the local business unit within the United Kingdom, encompassing commercial, market positioning, and strategic growth.
In this pivotal position, you will serve as the primary liaison between the market, customers, and internal team, shaping commercial strategy while driving order intake, profitability, and market share—with full P&L ownership.
You will report to the Demand Marketing & Sales Manager Northern Europe (High Voltage Products) and lead a cross-functional team of 15–25 professionals (direct and indirect) engaged in sales, tendering, and project support across the UK.
Responsibilities
Your role will encompass the following key areas:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Define and implement the UK market strategy in alignment with the Northern Europe Hub objectives.
- Drive growth initiatives and business planning across the High Voltage (HV) portfolio.
- Identify and develop key market segments, including:
- Transmission System Operators (TSOs)
- Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)
- Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms
- Data centres
- Renewable energy innovators

Customer Relationships & Sales
- Lead complex sales processes, including pricing and contractual negotiations.
- Own key customer relationships and drive sales outcomes across major contracts.
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment between sales, tendering, project management, and manufacturing.
Financial Accountability & Performance
- Manage the UK HV business P&L, ensuring strong performance in:
- Order intake
- Revenue growth
- Margin optimization
- Cash generation
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking.
Team Leadership & Development
- Coach and mentor sales managers and junior professionals to enhance performance and accountability.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Business Management candidates considered with strong technical experience).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in HV business, sales, or market management.
- Proven record of leading teams and cross-functional business units.
- Strong expertise in High Voltage substations, EPC projects, or similar technologies.
- Excellent understanding of the UK energy market, including interaction with:
- National Grid
- DNOs
- EPC firms

- Fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
