About the Role
As a Market Research & Data Analyst at Thomson Reuters, you will play a central role in shaping research-driven decision-making. Your responsibilities include:
- Research design: Collaborate with editorial and commercial teams to define research questions, design survey instruments and discussion guides, and select appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Data collection & management: Oversee fieldwork, ensure sampling and quota integrity, and guarantee clean, analysis-ready datasets from collection to final output.
- Analysis: Conduct full-scale analysis including cross-tabulation, significance testing, segmentation, modelling, and weighting, identifying key findings to drive commercial impact.
- Data storytelling: Transform analytical outputs into clear narratives and actionable insights, working with writers and designers for accurate, compelling report representation.
- Client engagement: Work directly with stakeholders to design programmes, explain methodologies, interpret findings, and provide guidance for effective research application.
- Integrity & standards: Uphold Reuters’ commitment to accuracy, sourcing, and independence, rejecting unsupported claims rigorously.

This is an immersive, hands-on role for analysts comfortable with survey design, technical implementation, and post-fieldwork analysis across multiple concurrent projects.
About You
We’re looking for candidates with:
✅ Demonstrable experience in designing and executing proprietary quantitative research programmes, ideally for external clients or stakeholders. ✅ Strong command of survey data analysis, including:
- Weighting & post-stratification
- Cross-tabulation
- Significance testing
- Segmentation
- Regression and related techniques
✅ Hands-on data experience in a statistical environment, with scripting/automation skills prioritised over specific software. Desirable but not requisite: R (preferred) or proficiencies in tools like SPSS, Q, Stata, or Python.
✅ Research design expertise: Questionnaire writing, sampling strategies, fieldwork oversight, and an instinct for data quality improvements. ✅ Critical analysis skills: Ability to interpret findings, explain statistical nuance, and determine business relevance of results to senior stakeholders.
✅ AI awareness: Experience in applying AI responsibly within market research frameworks. ✅ Communication excellence: Clear written/verbal skills, presenting complex findings with confidence to internal/external stakeholders. ✅ Project management proficiency: Juggling multiple deadlines without compromising rigour or accuracy.
