** This is a systems and execution role. There is NO cold calling, NO pitching, and NO client meetings. **

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Hi – we're SUMO – the UK's leading creator economy and talent management recruitment agency.

We work with many of the UK's top social media businesses, as well as talent agencies that represent some of the world's best-known celebrities, YouTubers, and influencers. We also own and publish The Talent Times, our own industry publication covering the creator economy.

We're looking for a Market Research and Outreach Manager to join us and help maintain and grow our existing outbound engagement systems. We work across multiple markets and sectors, and are looking to expand further. In this role, you will research potential markets and businesses for us to work with, help build processes and systems to outreach to contacts and grow our pipeline. This won't be a blank slate to work from, rather an already effective system that needs to be taken to the next level.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Researching and mapping new markets, territories and sub-sectors we should be approaching, and identifying the signals that show an agency is growing or hiring.
  • Building accurate, well-segmented prospect lists using research and enrichment tooling.
  • Managing outbound engagement systems day to day – sequence structure, timing, segmentation and list hygiene.
  • Designing, building and refining multi-touch messaging sequences across cold and warm audiences.
  • Using AI tools to draft, test and refine outreach copy at scale – personalising meaningfully by segment.
  • Automating manual steps in our current process wherever it's sensible to do so.
  • Managing messaging inboxes – deliverability, domain health, warm-up and sender reputation – and routing incoming responses quickly to the right team.
  • Building and maintaining reporting so we can see performance clearly at any point.
  • Developing new engagement routes beyond our existing ones, and continually evolving the process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Marketing experience essential – email marketing, CRM or lifecycle marketing, marketing automation or digital marketing are all directly relevant. Two years or more.
  • Hands-on experience building and running messaging campaigns or sequences end to end, and comfort with the platforms behind them.
  • Confident using AI tools as part of your day-to-day work.
  • Genuinely strong written English, with the judgement to know why one message lands and another doesn't.
  • A systems mindset – you notice repetitive work and want to automate it.
  • Comfortable with data, spreadsheets and reporting.
  • Organised and able to own a process without close supervision.
  • Desirable: exposure to outbound platforms (Apollo, Instantly, Clay, HubSpot or similar), email deliverability experience, or an interest in the creator economy. You do NOT need recruitment experience and you do NOT need to be technical in a software engineering sense – we'll teach you our market.
