Market Street Fishmonger – Job Opportunity

Do you have a passion for preparing, filleting, flavouring, and presenting fish to an impressive standard?

Being a skilled fishmonger, either behind a fish counter or in a professional kitchen, is a great way to shine—and if you’re someone with a naturally helpful and friendly style, Morrisons could be the perfect place for you.

About the Role

As a Market Street Fishmonger, you’ll be the face of our fresh fish counter, responsible for ensuring customer confidence in our premium products. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Maintaining high-quality, fresh, and attractive displays of fish to drive sales
  • Providing specialist advice on fish preparation and cooking methods
  • Preparing fish for sale according to company and customer specifications, including:
    • Cutting, pricing, and weighing fish
    • Filleting, scaling, skinning, pin boning, and gutting
    • Using appropriate equipment (e.g. knives, chainmail gloves)
  • Producing fish products to meet customer and online order requirements
  • Delivering outstanding customer service, going above and beyond to create memorable moments while showcasing fresh, high-quality products

About You – The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be:

  • A friendly, supportive professional who enjoys meeting new people and delivering exceptional service
  • Active and comfortable working in a fast-paced, varied environment
  • Proactive in resolving customer queries and going the extra mile
  • Skilled in using food preparation equipment while maintaining strict Health & Safety standards
  • Experienced or skilled in fishmongery with a passion for fresh produce
  • Willing to work across other fresh counters to ensure excellent customer coverage
