We are seeking: Marketing Administrator

For the following vacancy, we are looking for a confident and committed individual who is passionate about the opportunities this role may bring.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to support the day-to-day delivery of marketing activities at Lakes Aquarium. Working closely with the Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in implementing marketing campaigns, managing social media content, supporting public relations initiatives, coordinating group and school bookings, and assisting with membership administration.

This varied role combines creativity with strong organisational and administrative skills. You will create engaging digital content, assist with design and promotional materials, support visitor engagement initiatives, maintain marketing databases, and help deliver events and campaigns that drive visitor numbers and enhance the customer experience.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while promoting one of the Lake District's leading visitor attractions.

Roles & Responsibilities

MARKETING ASSISTANT CONTEXT JOB SUMMARY

Marketing Assistant is responsible for the administration and co-ordination aspects of marketing initiatives as well as general office duties and administrative tasks. You will assist the Marketing Manager in the day-to-day marketing for Lakes Aquarium.

You will assist in implementation and co-ordination of all trade and consumer marketing and public relations initiatives, along with the implementation of all creative activity and social media content, in line with the marketing strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

OFFICE DUTIES

  • To monitor emails and respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Filing and general administration
  • Staff engagement, to help the Operations Manager to implement ‘Employee of the Month’ and other staff initiatives.
  • Sending daily financial reports in the absence of Marketing Manager

GROUP, SCHOOL & EXPERIENCE BOOKINGS

  • To co-ordinate the effective group booking system. This includes taking School, Group, bookings via telephone, e-mail or in person.
  • Inputting data into the database, producing daily and weekly bookings diary for relevant departments and keeping the outlook calendar up to date.
  • Issuing confirmation letters and communications where necessary.
  • Liaising with third party companies Windermere Lake Cruises, Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, Lakeland Motor Museum and World of Beatrix Potter to help deliver a fun day out for all as part of our combined group packages.
  • To respond to school and group enquiries efficiently and to follow up each enquiry to ensure the information has been received.
  • To regularly review and update group and school databases for direct mail campaigns.
  • To assist with direct mail campaigns as detailed in the marketing strategy.

MEMBERSHIPS & Local Residents

  • Monitor the Lakes Aquarium Membership scheme.
  • Process new and renewal Annual Pass memberships including the production of photo ID cards and inputting details onto the till.
  • During busy periods, process new and renewal memberships at the till point.
  • To assist in implementation of the Annual Pass strategy, including promoting and marketing the memberships themselves as well as all their additional benefits.

MARKETING SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Schedule social media posts on a weekly basis paying attention to detail with information and captions
  • Create engaging and compelling content with good quality images and videos to attract customers
  • Follow current trends and work with Display team in an efficient manner to create content
  • Create content that aligns with the park guidelines

DESIGN AND CREATIVE APPLICATION

  • Assist in the delivery of all marketing materials (social media, posters, leaflets, menus, print adverts)
  • Design artwork making use of ADOBE platforms including Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Approve design and content and under the guidance of the MM and/or UK Director, issue final approval ensuring a coherent approach to the marketing campaign is maintained at all times
  • Maintaining onsite signage
  • Helping to create and implement value added activities for visitors and themed events.

PROMOTIONS

  • To accurately record and monitor all voucher redemptions in relation to promotions in place.
  • Keep all departments up to date regarding current and new promotions and issue memos to admissions.
  • To produce a monthly report outlining voucher redemptions and their success.

MARKET RESEARCH

  • When required, conduct face-to-face customer interviews to contribute towards weekly visitor feedback analysis
  • To be responsible for inputting data from customer satisfaction and market research questionnaires, responding to the weekly deadline.
  • To communicate online customer feedback to all departments and respond to both positive and negative reviews including Trip Advisor and Facebook under the guidance of the MM

PREPAID

  • To assist in the seeking of new opportunities for promotions and sales to local tourist information centers, tourist attractions, hotels, coach operators and other external organizations.
  • With the MM develop a calendar of activity to maintain regular contact with current pre-paid ticket agents to ensure contact details are always up-to-date and the parks/hotels are informed of school holiday news and events.

PR

  • In the absence of the MPRM, accompany internal media visits and ensure all are dealt with in a professional informative and friendly manner
  • If required, assist with Lakes Aquarium photoshoots ensuring all external visitors are dealt with in a professional and friendly manner whilst maintaining our commitment to the welfare of our creatures.
  • To assist in the hosting of onsite PR events when necessary.
  • Liaise with the media and third party organizations to arrange promotions and competitions and provide copy and images where necessary.
  • To assist the MM with research and content for the annual marketing strategy.
  • Suggest new ideas for attracting visitors to the Lakes Aquarium.
  • To assist in the implementation of initiatives in line with the marketing strategy in order to achieve the annual visitor budget.
  • Assist in the database development on a regular basis relating to group visits (education/ coach and other groups) and marketing contacts and key stakeholders.
  • To update lists of visitors e-mail addresses and postcodes for future e-marketing purposes.
  • If required, to co-ordinate the planning and preparation of events and corporate functions held at the park.
  • To support the online presence (website and social media platforms) by providing content, including images and videos,

GENERAL

  • To monitor the on-site use and storage of all print and marketing related material (including leaflets, visitor maps and kids quiz trails) - keeping accurate stock records at all times.
  • General administration duties including, dealing with postal and telephone enquiries, written and verbal communication, digital filing, scanning and general office administration.
  • Occasionally assisting admissions and retails on the tills.
  • Responsible for promoting the Real Live Leisure policies of quality customer care - ensuring a courteous, efficient and helpful service to all groups, schools and visitors at all times.
  • To do any other reasonable duty as required by the MPRM and UK Director, in accordance with the needs of the business.
