Our well-established global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team supports our firm with a wide range of business development, marketing, and client relationship management activities. Key team areas include:
- Practice M&BD
- Client & markets covering industry M&BD
- Pitches & pursuits (strategic global and regional pitches)
- Corporate communications (PR, brand, design, events, and digital)
- Campaigns & projects
Additionally, there are regional MBD teams based in Americas, Continental Europe, Asia, and South Africa, with whom this role will collaborate.
Practice Overview: Banking & Loan Finance
Our global Banking & Loan Finance team operates across key financial hubs, offering core services such as:
- Leveraged & acquisition finance
- Funds lending
- Real estate finance
- Asset finance
- Syndicated lending
- Islamic finance
- Trade & commodity finance
Working Hours
- Primary: 35 hours per week (9:30 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Flexibility: Additional hours may be required.
- Hybrid Policy: Up to 40% remote work, with 60% office-based presence. (Further flexibility discussed based on individual needs; contact the recruitment team for details.)
Role Overview
The Marketing and Business Development Manager – Corporate & Finance (Banking & Loan Finance and Restructuring & Special Situations) will collaborate with:
- The Corporate & Finance (C&F) Business Development team (including Head of M&BD – C&F, Finance, and Head of C&F M&BD – EMEA),
- The global Banking & Loan Finance partnership,
to drive strategic growth for the Banking & Loan Finance practice – focusing on:
- Maximising revenue from existing and prospective clients in Banking & Loan Finance.
- Enhancing the firm's global profile and market positioning.
- Aligning people, knowledge, and resources across the business.
The role ensures seamless collaboration with other M&BD team members, including the:
- Senior M&BD Manager (C&F – Capital Markets)
- M&BD Advisor (Infrastructure, Energy, Resources & Projects)
- M&BD Advisor (C&F – Finance)

Key Responsibilities
All responsibilities adhere to the firm’s Responsible Business program.
📊 M&BD Strategic Initiatives & Budget
- Partner with the Head of M&BD – C&F, Finance, the Global Head of Banking & Loan Finance, and the C&F partnership to implement global strategy in line with the firm’s group-wide goals.
- Cultivate comprehensive budgets for the Banking & Loan Finance practice, overseeing financial performance across the year.
- Orchestrate M&BD resources across international networks.
🎯 Client Targeting & Development
- Manage key strategic clients in the Banking & Loan Finance practice.
- Embed the Corporate & Finance global Client Listening Programme within the team.
- Develop client growth strategies to expand relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Build client insights through new business propositions, research & tailoring strategy (team, approach, and materials).
- Encourage full engagement with the firm’s CRM and experience management databases.
🏆 Pitching
- Develop global response strategies for RFPs, tailored pitches, and business presentations.
- Advise on credibility tools, pre-prepped materials, and collaborative approaches for strategic pitches (regionally and globally).
- Promote best practice for pitches across the International C&F network, empowering teams with review support.
- Track M&BD relationship-building best practices (cohorts, pitches) and ensure knowledge sharing.
📢 Marketing Campaigns & Profile Raising
- Contribute to global Banking & Loan Finance campaigns within UK and international markets.
- Collaborate with Events & Knowledge teams for branding and thought leadership efforts.
- Maintain UK/Europe/Global directory updates with clarity and rigour.
- Partner with the central PR team and Knowledge lawyers to foster client exposure via thought leadership, sponsorships, awards, and targeted events.
🔄 Internal Communication & Knowledge Sharing
- Facilitate cross-team sharing of best practices around new business pitches, business development, thought leadership, and client service delivery.

- Assist the Global Head of C&F M&BD, Head of M&BD – C&F, EMEA, and global team with group/M&BD initiatives as required.
Skills & Experience Required
Qualifications & Training
- Extensive legal or finance industry experience, with preferably managerial roles in banking & finance divisions.
- Background in business planning + budgeting, including ROI and analytical focus.
- Strategic and commercial thinking ability.
- Solid analytic and project-management capabilities.
- Comfortable in profit-sharing or partner-based professional services environments.
- Client relationship management focus, along with cross-industry marketing breadth.
Desired Attributes
A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, CIM) is welcomed.
