About the job:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to support Queen's University Accommodation and Campus Food and Drink within Residential and Hospitality Services. The post-holder contributes directly to the department's wider strategy by delivering promotional activities, events, and student-focused communications that enhance satisfaction and drive engagement.
The Marketing and Communications Assistant is responsible for the end-to-end production and delivery of external communications. The role focuses on the tactical execution of annual marketing campaigns, social media management, and the creation of digital and print collateral. The post-holder ensures a high standard of visual and written content across multiple channels, including digital video, web content, digital screens, and printed materials, while maintaining strict alignment with brand standards and compliance guidelines.

Daily duties involve maintaining accurate web content, alongside monitoring, creating, and moderating engaging social media content. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and student content creators to produce multimedia assets and coordinate filming schedules. Additionally, the post-holder will facilitate consultations, coordinate annual surveys, and collate feedback data into actionable reports.
About the person:
Candidates should clearly demonstrate how they meet the following criteria:
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) to include English Language and Maths or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject
- 3 years working in a marketing or public relations environment with relevant experience of:
- Creating engaging and appealing content for students using a variety of mediums
- Relevant experience of producing and maintaining webpages using leading web content management systems, asset management software to manipulate images or videos and the use of social media to support specific communication objectives
- Proofreading marketing content.

Desirable:
- Higher level qualification in Marketing/Advertising and Communications/Digital Marketing or related subject.
- Experience of digital analytics and reporting
