Marketing & Communications Director
LOCATION: London UK Headquarters
HOURS: Full Time
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid. 4 days in office and 1 day remote (non contractual and subject to change)
REPORTS INTO: Creative Director, Commercial Director
DIRECT REPORTS: Marketing Manager
PURPOSE:
Provide strategic leadership across the Marketing & Communications function, defining and delivering an integrated brand, marketing and communications strategy that strengthens brand desirability, drives commercial growth and supports the long-term ambitions of the business.
SCOPE:
- Lead the strategic direction of all Marketing & Communications activity across RTW, Bridal, Bespoke and Home, ensuring every customer-facing touchpoint reflects the Emilia Wickstead brand while supporting commercial growth and long-term brand equity.
- The remit includes Brand Marketing, Retail Marketing, Wholesale Marketing, Digital Marketing & CRM, PR, VIP & Media Relations, Creative Production, Events, Partnerships and Customer Communications.
- Work closely with the Founder and senior leadership team to align marketing and communications activity with the wider business strategy.
MARKETING:
- Provide strategic oversight of all brand, retail, wholesale and customer marketing activity, ensuring integrated campaigns support both brand equity and commercial performance.
- Lead the annual marketing strategy and calendar, overseeing seasonal launches, Fashion Week, campaigns, retail activations, trunk shows, wholesale marketing initiatives, partnerships and customer engagement programmes.
- Work closely with Retail, Wholesale and Client Services to identify opportunities to grow customer acquisition, retention and lifetime value, with particular focus on UHNW and VIC clients.
PR, VIP & MEDIA RELATIONS:
- Provide strategic leadership across PR, VIP and media relations, ensuring a consistent brand narrative and a best-in-class communications strategy across all markets.
- Oversee external PR agencies, media relations, celebrity dressing, VIP strategy, editorial opportunities, events and Fashion Week communications, ensuring activity delivers measurable impact while strengthening brand awareness and reputation.
CREATIVE PRODUCTION:
- Provide strategic oversight of creative production and visual brand execution, ensuring every customer-facing asset reflects the highest standards of luxury and reinforces the Emilia Wickstead brand identity.
- Champion the continuous elevation of the brand's visual identity across all marketing and communications touchpoints, ensuring creative output remains distinctive, aspirational and commercially effective.
- Oversee the development and delivery of campaign imagery, content, graphic design, marketing collateral and creative assets, ensuring consistency across retail, wholesale, digital, PR and CRM channels.
- Drive innovation across creative production by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and creative workflows through emerging technologies, including AI, while maintaining the integrity of the brand aesthetic.

DIGITAL & CRM:
- Digital and e-commerce marketing sits within scope, with natural cross-departmental collaboration across social, affiliate/influencer, paid, SEO, newsletters, website updates for seasonal releases and coordination on seasonal assets.
- To note - the role does not line-manage the Head of E-commerce; the overlap between marketing and e-commerce will be assessed with the Commercial Director and in coordination with the Head of E-commerce as part of the engagement.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT & REPORTING:
- Own the annual Marketing & Communications budget, ensuring investment is aligned with strategic priorities and commercial objectives across Marketing, PR and Creative.
- Responsible for annual budget planning, forecasting, supplier negotiations and ongoing budget management, ensuring resources are allocated effectively while delivering maximum return on investment.
- Monitor and report on departmental KPIs, analysing marketing performance, PR effectiveness, creative operations, budget utilisation and commercial outcomes to inform future strategy and continuous improvement.
LEADERSHIP & DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT:
- Lead, mentor and develop the Marketing, PR and Creative teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture with clear ownership and accountability.
- Establish robust planning, governance and reporting frameworks that improve operational efficiency and enable effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Continuously review departmental structures, systems and ways of working, ensuring the function remains scalable, commercially focused and aligned with business objectives.
- Champion innovation, continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies, including AI, across the department.
MANDATE:
- Define and deliver the global Marketing & Communications strategy.
- Lead and develop the Marketing, PR and Creative teams.
- Drive integrated marketing campaigns that strengthen both brand equity and commercial performance.
- Oversee brand, retail, wholesale, digital, CRM and communications strategy.
- Own the annual Marketing & Communications budget and departmental KPIs.
- Establish best-in-class planning, governance and reporting processes.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across Design, Retail, Wholesale and E-commerce.
- Oversee agency, supplier and partner relationships.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, operational efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Support the Founder and Executive Team in delivering the long-term growth strategy for the brand.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive senior leadership experience within a luxury fashion, luxury lifestyle or premium consumer brand.
- Proven experience leading integrated Marketing, PR and Creative teams.
- Demonstrable success developing and delivering global brand and commercial marketing strategies.
- Strong understanding of luxury retail, wholesale, digital marketing, CRM and customer experience.
- Significant experience managing substantial marketing budgets, forecasting and departmental planning.
- Proven success delivering Fashion Week campaigns, international brand activations and global product launches.
- Strong commercial acumen, balancing brand building with measurable business performance.
- Experience managing PR agencies, creative partners and external suppliers.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with founders, Creative Directors and executive leadership teams.
- Proven ability to build, mentor and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience implementing governance, reporting frameworks and operational processes that improve organisational effectiveness.
- Forward-thinking with a strong understanding of AI and emerging technologies, and their application across marketing, communications and creative operations.
