Marketing Assistant
Marketing Assistant | David & Charles Publishing
Location: Pynes Hill, Exeter (with hybrid working options available) Salary: GBP 26,000 per annum Vacancy Type: Full-time, permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our team in supporting our consumer marketing initiatives, primarily for our Veloce imprint (specialising in books for motoring enthusiasts).
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone keen to learn about book marketing and contribute to the success of our authors and publications. You’ll report to the Marketing Manager, working closely within the sales and marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of social media accounts, including:
- Creating and scheduling content
- Monitoring engagement and performance analytics
- Assist in promoting author books through targeted promotional activities
- Support the creation, optimisation, and management of email newsletters, including:
- Oversight of email campaigns
- Maintenance of subscriber lists
- Aid in online content development to engage new and existing readers, including:
- Blog posts, SEO copy, and other digital assets
- Provide logistical support for marketing events, both in-person and virtual
- Research and identify potential media and influencer opportunities for book marketing
- Organise and track media coverage (print and digital) -Support the end-to-end management of direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce sales and marketing campaigns
- Maintain up-to-date company websites and digital assets
- Offer general administrative support for all marketing activities

Requirements & Qualities
- Attention to detail and strong administrative skills
- Ability to compose clear, concise marketing copy
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- While an interest in automotive/transport themes is welcome, experience is not mandatory
- Willingness to learn and apply business systems (training provided)
- Occasional UK travel may be required as part of the role
