Marketing Assistant (Placement)

This position is only available to current undergraduate students at the University of Bath doing a placement in year 3.


Eligibility Requirements Students must be studying within:

  • Social and Policy Sciences
  • Politics, Languages and International Studies
  • Psychology

About The Role

We are seeking a Marketing Assistant to work with the Marketing team and wider Faculty in the effective promotion and recruitment of our courses to UK and international students.

The role covers a range of marketing activities including:

  • Content production
  • Copywriting for offline and online platforms
  • Supporting social media
  • Assisting with event support, both in-person and online
  • Helping to implement the Faculty’s advertising campaigns
  • Undertaking market research

The role will be integral in:

  • Creating relevant content for our target audiences across video and photography

You will bring your own experiences as a student into the team to advise and inform on marketing plans and activities.


Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience in:
    • Using digital and online marketing channels (including social media)
  • Ability to:
    • Create engaging content for social media platforms
  • Strong:
    • Literacy and copywriting skills
    • Attention to detail
  • Experience with:
    • Navigating IT, database, and presentation software
  • Strong:
    • Information management skills, including the ability to:
      • Analyze and present complex data
  • Excellent:
    • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to:
      • Work collaboratively in a team and with different stakeholders
  • Capacity to:
    • Manage and prioritize workload
    • Work on one’s own initiative
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and ability to:
    • Develop new skills quickly
