Marketing Associate

Marketing Lead (Community, Events & Growth) – Lightdash

About the Role

We're looking for a marketer to work directly with our Marketing Lead and own how Lightdash shows up in the world—at events, in the community, and through the partnerships that help us grow.

You’ll have real ownership: deciding which events we do, how we engage with the community, and making it all happen. We’re open to people early in their marketing career, with enough experience to hit the ground running.

What You’ll Actually Work On

Events Lightdash’s events presence is growing fast. Your role will include:

  • Owning our events calendar, deciding which conferences we attend and whether we go with a booth, talk, side event, or our own unique offering.
  • Managing end-to-end logistics, including venues, vendors, assets, speaker coordination, registrations, and on-the-ground execution.
  • Growing our own meetup series and other community initiatives.

Community We have a vibrant community of data practitioners across Slack, LinkedIn, events, and the dbt ecosystem. You’ll help:

  • Nurture engagement, keeping it active and finding ways to give back to the community.
  • Turn lurkers into advocates by fostering genuine relationships.
  • Spot key individuals worth knowing and help cultivate those connections.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Content Transform insights into engaging content:

  • Write blog posts, event recaps, and social media updates based on product launches, customer conversations, and trending topics.
  • Own content production across our marketing calendar and ensure the content engine stays running smoothly.

Startup Flexibility A startup moves fast—so occasionally, you’ll assist with content, social media, campaigns, or other marketing tasks to keep things flowing.

What We’re Looking For

We prioritise drive and curiosity over perfect CVs. These traits will stand out:

  • 1+ years of experience running events or community programmes (in-house or agency preferred, B2B tech experience is a bonus).
  • Strong communicator: capable of writing compelling outreach emails and leading conversations at meetups.
  • Highly organised:擊力 meetings deadlines, follow-ups with vendors, and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Leverages AI tools as a core part of workflow—not for writing alone, but to move faster and do more with less.
  • Proactive: you anticipate what needs doing before it happens.
  • Curious about the full spectrum of marketing (not just events or content—open to partnerships, campaigns, and growth tactics).
