Blue Legal are partnered with a leading award-winning national law firm who are recruiting for a Marketing & Business Development Executive to support their London office. The successful candidate will have some marketing and/or business development experience ideally gained within a law firm or professional services firm. The role would be suitable for an experienced BD Assistant, looking to step up, or an existing BD Executive who is looking for a new challenge in a specialist business development role at a firm where they can work across a number of key departments, helping shape their growth.
The Responsibilities:
- Working closely with departments across the firm to implement BD and client/ referrer relationship management best practice activities, and provide guidance on effective marketing and BD to reach identified target audiences.
- Working with the BD Manager and Head of BD to support relevant departments and teams across the firm on tenders and work-winning opportunities, helping create and ensure delivery and seeking feedback on outcomes.
- Being a link between departments, spotting opportunities and facilitating progress around cross-departmental and team collaboration.
- Support on routine and opportunity-focused firm-wide BD initiatives and projects for specific departments and involving collaboration with multiple departments at once.
- Lead routine and opportunistic/pro-active research projects, aimed at targeting clients and providing an infrastructure for the firm and individuals/teams to win work.
- Acting as a gateway between the lawyers and the wider marketing and business development team, helping the firm understand effective marketing and business development is and who in the team supports on what.
- To support on targeted events and mailings where needed, focused on reaching the right audiences in the right way and on event execution geared towards winning work.

The Candidate:
- Strong academic background with at least two years’ business/client development experience in professional services.
- Experience working in or with a business development and marketing department, preferably within professional services.
- Experience working on client-facing documents, ideally proposals and work-winning opportunities with clients.
- Energy and an appetite for working with a range of stakeholders in different areas of the business.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfort with challenge, working towards being considered ‘the expert’ on BD and a point person to stakeholders across different levels of seniority around best practice and skills.
- A team player, with an interest in all areas of marketing and business development.
- Ambition, to come into a relatively new team and make a positive impact.
