Company Description
Deaf Choices UK is a national charity dedicated to supporting parents of deaf children in making informed choices about language, literacy, and communication. Formerly known as Cued Speech UK for 45 years, the organization rebranded as Deaf Choices UK in December 2023 to better reflect its philosophy and ethos. The charity recognizes that every deaf child and family has unique needs and provides tailored guidance to help families understand and meet those needs effectively. Deaf Choices UK is the only charity in the UK that offers training in Cued Speech, empowering mostly hearing parents to communicate clearly and confidently with their deaf children.
Context
DCUK have recently had a communications review and are developing a strategy for improvement, inline with their three year charity strategy. This is an exciting time of growth and development for the charity and we are looking to build our stakeholder awareness and increase the sales of our literacy intervention. The role description below is aspirational. We are open to newly qualified candidates. DCUK value someone with passion, skill and a knowledge of the deaf community through personal experience or through association. If you need a step up into your career, we are looking to step up our Comms, PR and marketing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
