Job Title: Marketing Controller – Premium Beer
Location: Hemel Hempstead – Expectation to travel to our Hemel Hempstead office (2 days / week), other Carlsberg Britvic sites, customer visits and agency meetings in London
Job Length: Permanent – Full Time

About Carlsberg Britvic
Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

About the Role:
We are now recruiting for a Marketing Controller in Premium Beer. This role will manage the brand marketing agenda for our premium and world beer brands, reporting into the Brand Director for Premium Beer. This role will develop the 3-year growth strategy and oversee the delivery on the in-year plan for the portfolio of premium beer brands and will manage a team of 5, plus a wider team of specialists.
Role Responsibilities:
- Shape and deliver the long-term growth agenda for the Premium Beer portfolio, managing annual marketing, innovation and commercial plans.
- Lead a team of 5 (3 Brand Managers, 2 Assistant Brand Managers), developing team members through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
- Increase brand performance through deep insight, identifying opportunities and taking decisive action to accelerate growth.
- Advocate for the value of brand-building across the business, inspiring belief in the Premium Beer portfolio.
- Partner with senior commercial leaders to turn consumer insight into effective customer and category strategies.
- Stay ahead of consumer and cultural trends, uncovering opportunities that unlock sustainable growth.
- Build distinctive, culturally relevant brands that command attention and increase consideration.
- Manage portfolio media and connection strategies, optimizing investment across channels for maximum impact.
- Play a key role within the Marketing Leadership Team, promoting collaboration, capability and a high-performance culture.
- Inspire and challenge internal teams and agency partners to deliver impactful, category-leading campaigns.
- Thrive in a matrix environment with many moving parts, building positive relationships across functions, markets and cultures.

Experience and Key Attributes:
- Considerable experience in FMCG brand leadership, with a solid history of building portfolio growth across off-trade, on-trade, and e-commerce channels.
- Experience managing established brands and high-potential growth brands, delivering measurable outcomes across multiple investment levels.
- End-to-end marketing experience, from insight and creative development through to activation and execution across the full consumer journey.
- Solid capability in media and connections planning, with experience leveraging Paid, Owned and Earned (POE) channels to improve results.
- Demonstrated capability in developing unique, culturally aligned brands that capture attention, inspire demand, and build lasting brand equity.
- Strategic thinker with extensive experience translating consumer and shopper insights into growth-driven brand and business plans.
- Commercially skilled, balancing long-term brand building with short-term performance delivery.
- Effective influencer, able to engage and align senior stakeholders within complex, matrixed organisations.
- Experienced people leader who has built cohesive teams and encouraged continued professional development.
- Experience within the alcohol category is preferred.
